Former LSU player and member of the 2023 NCAA championship squad Alexis Morris had plenty to say about the tension surrounding her former team.
In the midst of LSU star and 2023 Most Outstanding Player Angel Reese being benched for an apparent attitude problem, the Connecticut Sun guard took the opportunity to express her thoughts on Reese and the situation.
‘I never wanted to be at odds, or cared about likes, media, nil none of those things,’ Morris said on X (formerly Twitter on Saturday). ‘I just wanted to hoop. I come from a different generation of players, we did not have all of this when I was in HS! NIL is a plus! Media coverage is a plus in my eyes.’
Reese’s stardom skyrocketed following LSU incredible run to the NCAA Championship in April.
During the offseason, Reese starred in a Sports Illustrated swimsuit spread, appeared in a Cardi B music video and became Rebook’s first signed athlete under Shaquille O’Neal.

Reese is reportedly getting punished by coach Kim Mulkey for an apparent attitude problem
After getting benched for the second half of LSU’s win against Kent State on November 14, Reese was completely absent during Friday’s win over Southeastern Louisiana. LSU coach Kim Mulkey did not give any details about what inspired her decision or timeline for Reese’s return.
‘It’s very obvious Angel is not in uniform,’ Mulkey said post game. ‘Angel is a part of this basketball team, we hope to see her sooner than later. That’s all you need to know.’
Following Thursday’s game, Morris posted a series of Tweets siding with Mulkey and supporting claims of Reese’s attitude problem.
‘You can’t pay me to bash Kim [Mulkey],’ Morris wrote on one tweet.
‘Switched up to gang up on me. now yall fall-in out. don’t ever choose clout over loyalty free game. I showed real love not for marketing politics. but the realist always prevail,’ she wrote on another.
Mulkey refused to give details about her decision to keep Reese off the court on Friday night
After a rough start to the season, the defending champions have won their last four games
Outkick’s Glen Guilbeau was the first to report about Reese’s ‘attitude’ problem. A source close to the team said Mulkey was trying to ‘adjust’ the problem by keeping Reese off the court, per Guilbeau.
Reese’s mother also exchanged social media jabs with Kia Brooks, mother of LSU sophomore Flau’jae Johnson.
‘Stop being petty, fake and hateful,’ Brooks wrote. ‘Take responsibility for you and your daughter’s actions.’
LSU is 4-1 this season with their next game against Texas Southern on November 20. Whether or not Reese will be in uniform remains a question.
